About Sarah

Professor Sarah Mackenzie Ross is an award-winning Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist. She is a clinician, medical expert witness, researcher, lecturer and supervisor of both students and qualified psychologists undertaking clinical and research work. In 2020 she was awarded the Distinguished Contribution to Practice Award 2020 by her professional body, the British Psychological Society, for work which has made an outstanding and lasting contribution in neuropsychology for the benefit of people and organisations.

Clinical Work

Sarah runs her own private practice providing adult mental health and neuropsychological reports for both general healthcare and medico-legal purposes. Sarah's career history has included several clinical and research appointments within the NHS working as both a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a Clinical Psychologist in Adult Mental Health.

Research

Sarah has a longstanding research record in health and neuropsychology. She established the Neuropsychological Toxicology Unit (the only unit of its kind in the UK) and directed various research projects between 2004 and 2009 concerning the impact of toxins on psychological function in different occupational groups. She continues to undertake research on a wide range of topics and has published may scientific articles and book chapters.

Teaching & Supervision

Sarah is an Honorary Professor on the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology at University College London, having previously been employed as a Senior Clinical Tutor on this programme between 1997 and 2009.
